Vi har damsugit hela Västvärlden men inte funnit något vaccin som kan ersätta det vi använde.
Vi skall försöka tillverka ett nytt men det kostar pengar.

Min läkare på Gottfries sa i veckan att det KAN, möjligtvis men inte helt säkert vara så att en donation är på G, en privatperson. Vi kan bara vänta och se, detta var helt nytt och kommunikation forgår. Vi får hoppas "this is it"!

Jag skrev följande brev till Anette Whittmore WPI för lite mer än en månad sedan:

" Dear Sirs,
it came to my knowledege that a doctor in Sweden has had a cure/relief for ME/CFS. The doctors name is Prof. Gottfries at the Gottfries clinic of Mölndal. They can be found at http://www.gottfriesclinic.com/hem.html. Unfortunately the site is in swedish only. The clinic can be reached by phone: +46 31 343 23 97.
Professor Gottfrie is a ME-sufferer himself and takes this vaccine to keep in good shape. The vaccine was originally designed to adress stafylocock-infections. As professor Gottfries realized that the vaccine was helpful for ME he began to treat his patients with it. Unforunantely and despite protest from Gottfries and colleagues the vaccinemanufacturer decided not to manufacture this particular vaccine in 2005. Gottfries bought a box full of vaccine for himself and this source keeps him healthy but unfortunantely he has nothing to offer his patients. Professor Gottfries has now decided to, if possible, start the manufacturing again. Research on the vaccine has been done in "Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome - Aspects on biology, treatment and symptom evaluation" in Gothenburg university.
The issue is that it seems that taking up manufacturing needs funding. This seems to be a problem at the moment for prof. Gottfries. Is this something that might be of interest for you?
Since I myself is a ME-sufferer I think its important to look upon possibilities. After all the vaccine has been approved for healthcare, and this makes the way to practical use much shorter should this be an option. Maybe this has been under consideration already amongst you? After all Jonas Blomberg, a swedish scientist are right now trying to repeat your XMRV-findings, with the help of patients at the gottfries-clinic.
Professor Gottfries was on national TV here in sweden a couple of weeks ago in this matter and is maybe the only authority we have in this field in Sweden.
I am sure that he would take on any proposal from you since providing the vaccine seems to be his main goal.

Det finns organisationer som stöder ME-forskning. Det finns en organisation i Europa som heter Orphanet som stödjer framtagning av t.ex. mediciner till ovanliga sjukdomar. ME ingår i deras lista på ovanliga sjukdomar. Gottfries Clinic kan göra ansökningar till dessa organisationer för att se ifall någon är intresserad av att stöda den kliniska forskningen kring stafylokockvaccin som nu står stilla på grund av en ny variant måste tas fram utan konserveringsmedlet med kvicksilver. Var det så att medlet ej är godkänt lägre av den etiska nämnden för användning för deras forskning eller var det så att medlet förbjöds helt av läkemedelsmyndigheten?

Det ser ut som om Gottfries har varit ute redan 1998. "n February 1998 an international Conference called "New Approaches to the Treatment of CFS" was held in Sydney to discuss the clinical and scientific basis of the disease. At the time there were a number of short television news reports that briefly mentioned some of the theories being discussed and, hearteningly, gave the overall message that there is now hard scientific evidence of a physical basis for CFS."
